Depth Chart Matters and Two New QB Commits
While Ray Rice has reported to camp considerably larger and presumably more prepared to face the punishment he will be expected to endure throughout the season, the rest of the team has more than a few questions at other positions. Namely, who will step in at right guard, tight end, and at middle linebacker-among other places?
As things stand right now, it appears that Kevin Haslem has the lead over improving freshman Anthony Davis at right guard. Shamar Graves appears to be making some headway at TE and seems to have an advantage over the competition. Finally, middle linebacker is still a wide open competition between Blair Bines and Chris Quaye.
And looking towards the future, the Scarlet Knights have landed two solid quarterback prospects. Both Florida's D.C. Jefferson and NJ's Stephen Shimko check in at 6-foot-6 and possess cannons for arms. Jefferson is one of the most discussed prospects in the nation, who apparently chose RU over offers from the likes of SEC powers Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee. Despite the strength of their respective arms, don't be surprised if one of them winds up changing positions at RU at some point.
